Governor of NSW Farewell
Governor of NSW Primary

We were honoured this week to welcome His Excellency General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret'd), Governor of New South Wales, accompanied by his wife Mrs Linda Hurley.

His Excellency, as Honorary Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering (ATSE), presented Science and Technology Education Leveraging Relevance (STELR) equipment and a Certificate of Appreciation to School Principal and Students of Wadalba Community School, in celebration of the school becoming the 600th STELR school in Australia. The STELR Project is a key education initiative run by ATSE and designed to improve Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths education across Australia.

His Excellency visited our Y4/5 Primary class who were investigating solids, liquids and gases as part of their Science lesson team taught by Mr Booth (Primary) and Ms Jones (Secondary Science). Students explored the concept using ingredients to make ice-cream.

A group of our Y9 Science students demonstrated the STELR equipment for His Excellency and other distinguished guests. Our accelerated Y11 Physics students shared their Medical Physics assignments before our guests enjoyed morning tea prepared by our Senior Hospitality students.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the visit memorable.
